Frequently asked questions
How many first aid trained staff does a workplace need?
WSIB Regulation 1101 sets the requirement by shift size. Smaller workplaces generally need at least one qualified first aider on every shift, with the requirement scaling up as the number of workers per shift increases.
Who issues the First Aid certificate?
The certificate comes from the certifying body behind the provider delivering your session, and its validity period is set and stated by them. We confirm which body is issuing and what the certificate carries before the session is booked.
What is the difference between Emergency and Standard First Aid?
Emergency First Aid is a one-day program covering life-threatening emergencies. Standard First Aid runs two days and adds a broader range of injuries and medical conditions. Which one your workplace needs depends on the first aid requirements that apply to you — we will help you work that out before you book.
